Patio Guernica, the beloved Spanish restaurant famous for its favorite paella has found a new home at Bellagio Square in Malate, Manila.

From its old location at Remedios Circle, Patio Guernica moved to its lovely spot in Bellagio Square at 1658 Jorge Bocobo St. Malate, Manila.

Patio Guernica, so named after the founder’s alias who was born in the historic Basque town of ‘Guernica’ is a Spanish restaurant that has brought a little bit of Spain to Manila.
Patio Guernica is set on two floors innocuously done out in mid-brown furniture, with spotlights and votives providing light in the evenings and natural light from the large glass windows.

Patio Guernica in its new home in Bellagio Square is a careful blend of everything about Spain. Warm décor, authentic cuisine and friendly hospitality. All these go together to create a unique and genuine atmosphere.

Patio Guernica in Malate was established in 1955 by Senor Jose Ma. Hormacchea, a Spanish national, and a well known jai-alai player. Since then, it has grown so popular with residents and visitors alike. This brand new site offers the hearty dishes like lengua, callos, rabo de toro and the famous paella valenciana, a traditional paella featuring seafood, chicken, pork, chorizo, diced peppers, onion, garlic, tomato, peas, beans, saffron and white wine; a purely seafood one with prawns, mussels, squids, fresh fish and the sofrito of diced peppers, onions, garlic, tomato, peas, fine green beans and saffron that Patio Guernica has always been famous for. At its new location, it now has more space with great views of Bellagio’s palmed courtyard and its neighboring restaurants.

Through Senor Hormacchea has passed on, his legacy of good Spanish food lives on at Patio Guernica.
